Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared fresh, presented attractively, and served promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing as required
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
- Serve meals efficiently while providing excellent customer service when required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience in meal preparation, plating, and presentation techniques
- Familiarity with various cooking methods and culinary styles is desirable
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a restaurant or hotel is advantageous
- Serving experience is beneficial but not essential; willingness to learn customer service skills is important
