Manual Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing

Contract: Until July 2027- with the possibility to extend due to the opening of the new facility
Key Responsibilities
- Master manual machining — Set up and operate Jig Bores, lathes, and mills to produce high‑accuracy components.
- Bring engineering drawings to life — Interpret complex specifications and turn them into perfectly machined parts.
- Craft ultra‑precise components — Manufacture and rework parts to tight tolerances and exceptional surface finishes.
- Own the quality process — Perform in‑process inspections using micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges, and DTI indicators.
- Keep machines running at their best — Carry out routine maintenance and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
- Document your craftsmanship — Complete production and quality records with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with engineering teams — Work closely with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure every component meets design intent and customer expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- Manual machining experience in precision engineering in aerospace or a similar field with related experience
- Ability to work with multiple materials including castings.
- Strong drawing interpretation skills for complex components.
- AS9100 familiarity (preferred).
- Competence with precision measurement and inspection equipment.
- Quality‑driven mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexible and proactive approach — able to work independently or in a team.
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
