Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician

Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment

Complete inspections and preventative maintenance

Repair or replace components as required

Ensure all work meets manufacturer and DVSA standards

Complete workshop documentation accurately

Support roadside assistance work when required

Work safely and efficiently within a busy workshop environment
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Essential

Previous experience as an HGV Technician

Experience working as an HGV Mechanic

Background as a Commercial Vehicle Technician

Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills

Full UK driving licence

Excellent attention to detail

Positive attitude and strong team working skills

HGV Class 1 licence
