Position
The purpose of this role is to drive revenue growth and strategic value across a portfolio of Insurer Partners and Product Providers, managing relationships across Personal and Commercial Lines where applicable.
Operating within Open GI's broader Sales and Distribution strategy, the role is accountable for building and strengthening relationships with insurers, developing a detailed understanding of their business models, KPIs, product strategies, and distribution approaches.
The role works end-to-end across the insurance ecosystem, collaborating with both Insurer Partners and Broker customers to optimise distribution performance, improve product placement, and increase the effectiveness of how insurers trade through Open GI's platforms.
A key focus of the role is to drive both direct and indirect revenue growth, including capital revenue (ILF), recurring revenue (RLF), and transactional income such as EDI and other platform based revenues.
The role works closely with internal teams, including Broker Sales, Pre-Sales, and Product, to align insurer opportunities with Open GI's product capabilities and SaaS strategy, ensuring scalable and commercially effective solutions.
As part of Open GI's Revenue Growth Engine, the role contributes to increasing platform utilisation through a data led approach, strengthening insurer-broker connectivity, and maximising overall market value across the distribution chain.
Your key responsibilities

Day to day account management of a panel of insurers, MGAs and Product Providers, ensuring customer retention and satisfaction is maintained

Understand and confidently articulate Open GI's position in the current and future distribution channels

Fully understand insurance providers' business profiles and strategies which is then articulated into a Customer Account Plan

Build and maintain positive working relationships with all UK, NI and ROI insurance companies, product providers and brokers (as appropriate)

Develop business opportunities with both existing, new customers and new markets

Identify opportunities to upsell / expand Open GI's presence with customers

Work actively with the Customer Success team to provide accounts insights and ensure they understand and are maximising the value delivered by Open GI

Achievement of set monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets and KPI's

Negotiation/renegotiation of commercial terms, contracts and orders

Generation of prospects and conversion to orders for new initiatives

Build and maintain relationships with specific broker intermediaries to encourage the use of EDI technology or equivalent

Identify any risks, service issues or opportunities and escalate internally as appropriate

Liaise with internal teams in order to ensure customer requirements are met

Maintain Salesforce with all aspects of customer management Build and maintain market knowledge of Open GI's competitors

Requirements
Qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grade C or above (essential).

Degree level (preferred) or equivalent in experience

Professional Insurance qualification (preferred but not essential)

Full valid driving licence or ability to travel
Experience
-
Strong, relevant experience in an Insurance Provider/Broker or SaaS Software House background

Proven account management experience including specific Sales and Contract negotiation.

Proven and current experience of overseeing and delivering relevant strategic propositions to partners and clients

Understanding and experience of the general Insurance market including both Personal and Commercial lines

Understanding of intermediary market and the role of Software Houses as a distribution channel

Knowledge of Insurance company products and the benefits of electronic trading
