Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter for an initial 4-week contract across two sites in North Wales. The successful candidate will support the maintenance and improvement of fixed plant equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on fixed plant machinery
- Implement plant improvements where required
- Complete risk assessments and associated documentation to ensure safe systems of work
- Liaise daily with management and operations teams to prioritise maintenance and repairs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices in an industrial setting
- Experience in mechanical fitting and maintenance, including:
- Conveyors
- Pumps
- Pipes and valves
- Filtration systems
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Bearings and gearboxes
- Ability to use lifting and pulling equipment safely
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Experience
- Quarrying, mining, or heavy industry background
- Relevant mechanical qualifications or time-served apprenticeship
