Preschool Room Leader - 16 children (Level 3 Qualified) Little Lane Nursery, Stamford
Full Time | 4 or 5 Day Working Week (38 - 47.5 Hours) | Up to £36,432.50 per annum
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a wonderful Preschool Room Leader to join our Little Lane family.
At Little Lane Nursery, we believe children thrive when they feel loved, safe and valued. We're not a large nursery chain – we're a family-run nursery where relationships come first, laughter fills the rooms and every child is treated as if they were our own.
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Room Leader to lead our Preschool Room and help prepare our children for their next big adventure – school.
One of the things that makes Little Lane special is our approach to quality over quantity. Our Preschool Room has a maximum of just 16 children, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, seven children attend our off-site Forest School sessions, leaving just nine children in the room. This creates smaller group sizes, reduced ratios and more opportunities to build meaningful relationships with children and support their individual learning and development.
Why Little Lane?
- A genuine home-from-home environment where relationships come first
- 4-day, 4.5 day or 5 day working week (38-47.5 hours)
- Salary up to £36,432.50 per annum
- Company pension scheme
- Employee childcare discount
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Career progression opportunities – this role has become available due to an internal promotion
- A supportive leadership team who genuinely care about their staff
- Staff wellbeing initiatives and regular social events
- The opportunity to be part of a family-run nursery where your ideas, contributions and hard work are recognised and appreciated
The Role
As our Early Years Preschool Room Leader, you'll be at the heart of children's learning and development, leading a team that creates magical learning experiences every day.
You'll support children aged 3–5 years to develop the confidence, independence and school readiness skills they need for a successful transition to school, while ensuring our room remains a warm, nurturing and inspiring place to learn and grow.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting your room team
- Planning exciting learning opportunities in line with the EYFS
- Supporting children's development, wellbeing and school readiness
- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, care and education

We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)

- Leads with kindness, positivity and enthusiasm
- Loves working as part of a team
- Builds strong relationships with children and families
- Wants to make a genuine difference every single day
Our Values
At Little Lane Nursery, our values are simple but incredibly important:
Respect * Kindness * Teamwork * Professionalism
We are looking for someone who lives these values every day and will help us continue to create a nurturing environment where children, families and staff can all thrive.
This vacancy has arisen due to the promotion of one of our existing team members, something we're incredibly proud of. We believe in developing our people and creating opportunities for career progression wherever possible.
Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment
Little Lane Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, verification of qualifications, proof of identity, right to work checks and an online search in line with our safer recruitment procedures.
If you're looking for more than just a job and want to be part of a nursery that truly feels like family, we'd love to hear from you.
