Overview
We are looking for a capable and motivated Line Leader to take ownership of our production facility within a fast-growing food manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for ensuring the line runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while leading a small team to meet daily production targets.
You will coordinate people, materials, and machinery to keep production flowing while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
While you will regularly support the team on the line, your primary responsibility is to lead the line as a whole, ensuring everything and everyone works together to deliver consistent, high-quality production.
Shift pattern : Mon to Fri, 6am – 5pm (11 hours shift, including two unpaid 30 mins break)
Key Responsibilities
Lead the packing Line
- Take ownership of the daily running of a production line, ensuring output targets and schedules are met.
- Coordinate team members to maintain an efficient production flow and minimise downtime.
- Ensure the line is properly set up, staffed, and supplied throughout the shift.
Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate a small production team during the shift.
- Train new starters and support the development of existing team members.
- Maintain high standards of teamwork, accountability, and communication.
Food Safety & Quality
- Ensure strict adherence to HACCP procedures, GMP standards, and food safety regulations.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products are produced to specification.
- Promote strong hygiene and safety practices across the team.
Equipment & Operations
- Oversee the performance of production equipment including multi-head weighers, slicers, and other packing equipment.
- Support basic troubleshooting where required.
- Escalate equipment or operational issues promptly.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all production and technical paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Help your team to understand the importance of key procedures and paperwork.
Problem Solving & Escalation
- Identify and resolve day-to-day production issues.
- Escalate more complex operational, quality, or technical issues where necessary.
- Help maintain a calm, organised, and efficient environment.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline production processes.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a food production or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards
- Previous experience leading or supervising a production team, big or small
- Ability to manage people and processes simultaneously
- Mechanical awareness and confidence around production equipment is desirable.
- Experience with multi-head weighers or automated packing equipment is beneficial but not essential
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Clear communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
This role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Line Leader, Senior Operator, or Production Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment.

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
