We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to work closely with our Nursery Manager and support the day-to-day running of the nursery.
We have a strong team in place who work well together and take pride in what they do. This role is about supporting that team, keeping things consistent across the nursery and continuing to build on what’s already working well.
Puddle Jumpers Nursery in Limehouse is a place where children feel safe, settled and free to be themselves. Our vision is to create spaces where children grow into happy, courageous and inquisitive thinkers — the future thinkers of the world.
Why join Puddle Jumpers
At Puddle Jumpers, we take pride in running a setting that is organised, thoughtful and enjoyable to be part of day to day.
You’ll be joining a team that works well together, supports each other and communicates openly. There is a clear structure in place, and people understand their roles — which makes a real difference to how the day runs.
As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager and be trusted to take ownership of your role. You’ll have the space to contribute your ideas, support the team in a meaningful way and play an active part in how the nursery continues to develop.
This is a role where you can grow — strengthening your leadership skills, building confidence in managing people and gaining the experience needed to develop further.
Most importantly, it’s a place where you can do your job well, feel supported while doing it, and be part of a team that takes pride in the environment they create for children.
What this role really requires
We’re looking for someone who can support a team in a calm, positive and consistent way.
That means:
- Being approachable and supportive, while maintaining clear expectations
- Helping staff feel confident and capable in their roles
- Bringing consistency across the nursery
- Staying organised, steady and solutions-focused day to day
You should be someone who leads by example and creates a sense of stability for the team.
Who are we looking for:
- Have experience as a Deputy Manager, Room Leader or Third in Charge in a nursery setting
- Are passionate about people – both the little ones and the grown-ups
- Are hands-on, energetic, and love being on the floor inspiring your team
- Enjoy developing others and supporting professional growth within a team
- Lead by example, staying positive, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure
- Understand how to balance leadership, resilience, and accountability
- Are confident in your knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted frameworks
If you're ready to lead with warmth, grow a thriving team, and be part of a nursery where relationships come first, then we’d love to hear from you. Apply now by sending your CV to: [email protected] or apply directly via Indeed.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. Employment will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance and two suitable references.
