We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to work in our new bar in Tooting.
You will oversee all aspects of a bar’s operations, focusing on maximizing profits, managing inventory, and ensuring high-quality customer service.
Key responsibilities include training staff, creating schedules, enforcing health and safety compliance, managing stock, etc.
- Operations: Manage daily operations, including opening/closing, cleaning, and ensuring compliance with licensing laws and safety regulations.
- Staff Management: Work with recruitment to hire staff, train staff on site, schedule, and lead bartenders, barbacks, and service staff to maintain high service standards.
- Inventory & Stock: Oversee inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Financial Performance: Monitor financial results, set budgets, control costs, and implement strategies to boost sales.
- Customer Service: Address customer feedback, resolve issues, and ensure a welcoming, safe environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Usually 3–5+ years in a bar management or hospitality role.
- Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of mixology, beverage trends, and POS systems.
- Compliance: Knowledge of local laws regarding alcohol service
