Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our children's Residential care facility working on a 2 on 4 off shift pattern. The ideal candidate will pose a strong background in children's residential and management and have a minimum 2 years experience in a senior role. This role involves supporting the overall operation of the care home, ensuring high standards of care for our young people, and leading a team of caregivers. The Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in developing care plans, supervising staff, and providing leadership.
Duties
- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality care to the young people, including medication administration and personal care.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans for the young people, taking into account their specific needs and preferences.
- Provide leadership and training to staff members, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional development.
- Monitor the well-being of the young people, addressing any concerns related to their health or safety promptly.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for the young people with varying needs.
- Maintain accurate records of the young people's care and staff performance, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to policies & procedures.
Qualifications
- minimum of QCF level 3 in Children and Young People and CYP.
- Proven experience in children's residential settings is essential.
- Background in senior care is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of care practices.
- Previous management or supervisory experience within a Residential home environment is required.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and care plan development.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on empathy and compassion for young people's needs.
