Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs within a specialist school in Erdington.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with physical, sensory, and communication needs to access learning and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with PMLD and complex needs
- Assist with personal care and daily routines where required
- Support sensory-based learning and communication activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Encourage engagement, independence, and wellbeing
- Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Person Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs or disabilities
- Caring, patient, and supportive nature
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two satisfactory references

Relevant SEND experience required, including:
