Overview
We are small family business from Swindon seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous delivery driver experience and a strong driving record to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation. A valid driving licence and familiarity with commercial driving, including Luton van, are essential for this position. You would only be required to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday and you would be covering the same run delivering to the same two shops three days a week. Additional work on Tuesdays and Thursdays would be available if desired.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicle.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring the integrity of goods during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after setting off for your journey, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies during deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Ensure the security of cargo throughout transit and handle goods with care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver is preferred, preferably with Luton van or commercial driving experience.
- Valid UK driving licence
- Demonstrable knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws in the UK.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during daily routes.
- Physically fit to load, unload, and handle goods as required. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a hands-on position within logistics that values safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
You will be provided with training on any work or routes you would be covering until we are confident that you can complete it by yourself.
