We're looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our friendly kitchen team at The Fish Hotel.
Set across 500 acres of beautiful Cotswold countryside, The Fish is a laid-back luxury hotel unlike any other. With stylish rooms, treehouses, shepherds huts and woodland cabins, alongside our 2 AA Rosette restaurant, Hook, we're passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to every guest — and our Kitchen Porters play a vital role in making that happen.
As a Kitchen Porter, you'll be at the heart of the kitchen operation, supporting our chefs and helping maintain the high standards that keep our kitchen running efficiently.
Permanent Position:
- 40 hours per week over 5 days
Please note: evening and weekend work is part of the role.
What you'll be doing:
- Keeping the kitchen, pot wash and back-of-house areas clean, organised and safe
- Washing dishes, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Supporting the chefs with basic food preparation when required
- Receiving and storing deliveries
- Ensuring all cleaning schedules and food hygiene standards are maintained
- Assisting with waste management and recycling
- Working as part of a close-knit team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
What we're looking for:
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Previous kitchen porter experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided
- A willingness to learn and support the wider kitchen team
The details:
- £13.45 per hour, rising to £13.65 after one year
- Plus gratuities (typically adding approximately £2,000–£2,500 per year depending on hours worked)
