Overview
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Wrap Around Care Site Lead and Wrap Around Care Assistant to support the provision of high-quality after-school care for children from September 2026. The roles will be based in the Hemsworth or surrounding areas of Wakefield. The successful candidates will work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment that meets the needs of all children in our care. Running from early afternoon to 6pm each day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of age-appropriate activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist in planning and delivering creative and stimulating activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor play, and group games.
- Provide support during snack and mealtime routines, promoting healthy eating habits and good table manners.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Encourage good behaviour and social development through positive reinforcement and role modelling.
- Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of children by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Assist in setting up and tidying away activities and equipment, ensuring a clean and organised environment.
- Follow health and safety regulations, reporting any concerns to the Wrap Around Care Manager.
- Support children with additional needs, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.
- Undertake any relevant training and development opportunities as required.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or playwork setting.
- A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a school or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a childcare environment.
Additional Information:
This role requires an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all school policies and procedures.

Pay: £12.50-£17.00 per hour
