Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing person centred care to our residents at Maple View, particularly those with additional needs. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives through promotion of independence, and working closely with adults with learning disabilities. The role requires a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering independence and well-being.
Duties
- Offer personalised support tailored to individual needs, promoting independence and confidence in accordance to care plans.
- Engage in a range of activities to guide and motivate residents.
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Facilitate learning by teaching new skills or reinforcing existing ones in a supportive environment
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic care plans are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment at all times.
Requirements
- Experience or interest in working with vulnerable individuals
- Skills in mentoring, teaching, or educational support are highly desirable
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different situations.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting others.
- Relevant qualifications or training in health and social care are advantageous but not essential.
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills- (Trained in British sign language or willing to work towards this).
