The Role
Howden Turbo UK is seeking a high‑calibre Finance Manager on a 12 month contract to lead our local finance operations and ensure robust financial control, reporting accuracy and compliance across the UK business. This is a key leadership role within the Finance team, supporting both the local Senior Management Team and the wider US‑owned Group.
You will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate internal and external reporting, maintaining a strong SOX‑compliant control environment, and acting as the primary finance contact for stakeholders across the business. What Will You Do?
Lead, coach and develop a team of three finance professionals
Oversee GL, AP, AR and cost budgeting activities
Manage treasury, cashflow and cashflow forecasting
Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes
Prepare and publish monthly US GAAP financial statements
Work closely with the Project Controller on budgeting and forecasting
Support the Finance Director in maintaining a strong SOX control environment
Lead the group and local audit process, including preparation of draft statutory accounts
Ensure compliance with HMRC, VAT, ONS and other local reporting requirements
Develop process measures and drive business improvement initiatives
Maintain compliance with technical accounting standards
Undertake additional duties to support the Finance Director and wider business as required
What Do You Bring?
An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:
ACCA or ACA qualified, with experience in a similar finance role
High personal standards with a strong focus on accuracy and results
Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, corporate environment
Confident working with non‑financial stakeholders across operations, engineering and commercial teams
Proactive, self‑starting and assertive, with strong problem‑solving skills
Adaptable, resilient and able to manage competing priorities
Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
