Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while working closely with children to support their developmental milestones. Applicants must hold a valid Level 3 childcare qualification and possess a genuine enthusiasm for working with children in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Supervise and support children’s daily routines, including play, meals, rest, and hygiene
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages children’s independence and confidence
- Observe, record, and assess children's progress, sharing insights with parents and colleagues as appropriate
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour, safety, and organisation within the nursery setting
- Support the induction and mentoring of junior staff or apprentices where applicable
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations and continuity of care
- Contribute to the planning of activities that develop children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and nursery policies at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Level 3 Childcare Qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce) or equivalent recognised qualification
- Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Valid driving licence is desirable but not essential; flexibility to travel may be advantageous depending on role requirements
