Summary
We are a fresh, forward thinking early years setting, searching for a food super hero to join our team.
We are seeking a passionate Nursery Chef with extraordinary powers to fuel our tiny superheroes with delicious, nutritious meals that help them grow strong, smart and ready to save the day. Your role will contribute to creating positive eating habits for all of the children in our care.
Responsibilities
- Be involved in the creation of a menu ‘Where children are provided with meals, snacks and drinks, that must be healthy, balanced and nutritious’.
- Prepare healthy and appealing meals for children in accordance with dietary guidelines.
- Ensure food safety standards are strictly followed in all kitchen activities.
- Collaborate with staff to plan menus that meet nutritional needs and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
- Manage food inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Support a positive dining experience for children during meal times.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling.
- Contribute to the overall well-being of children through thoughtful meal preparation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a childcare or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for providing nutritious meals that support children's health.
- Preferred: previous experience working in early years settings or childcare environments.
- Knowledge of allergy management and special dietary requirements is a plus.
