We are offering an apprenticeship opportunity within our residential children’s homes in South-East London. This is a paid, hands-on role where you will earn while you learn, gaining practical experience and working towards a nationally recognised qualification in residential childcare.
No degree is required. What matters most is your character, professionalism, emotional intelligence, commitment to safeguarding, and determination to positively impact the lives of young people.
What You Will Learn
Working in residential childcare provides a unique opportunity to develop expertise in:
- Trauma-informed and therapeutic care
- Safeguarding and child protection
- Behaviour support and de-escalation
- Emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Multi-agency working
You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain practical experience supporting young people with complex needs while developing highly transferable interpersonal skills.

Your Future
Successful apprentices will be considered for permanent roles as residential childcare workers, with further progression opportunities into senior practitioner, team leader, deputy manager and leadership roles across the Bright Futures group.
Exceptional apprentices may also be considered for entry into the Bright Futures Leadership Academy — our flagship three-year accelerated development programme for future leaders in children’s social care.

- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) — no degree required
