Technical Author
As technical author you will be responsible for writing high-quality product documentation, with the ability to evaluate and analyze complex information and translate it into user friendly technical manuals. A passion for engineering and a desire to deliver top quality technical publications is essential for this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content in the form of product manuals for new and current technical products
- Produce and control a diverse range of product technical documents including operator manuals, spare part listings, technical bulletins, and registration documentation ensuring all are up to date.
- Write user-friendly technical bulletins for modifications to existing products.
- Develop hard-copy and web-based content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement
- Generate and Modify CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
- Working with the engineering design team to produce Installation Documentation
Role Requirements
- A Higher Education Degree level qualification or studying towards it, in an engineering or technical discipline.
- A minimum 1 years’ experience working as a Technical Writer/Author or a similar publications design, technical documentation focused position.
- Technical / computer skills (Solidworks, Pulse, Microsoft Office, ERP systems etc)
