Houghton Mill is an historic watermill on the River Great Ouse, open for tours and self-led visits 2 - 3 days a week. The site itself is open every day, with a 7-day a week tea room, and gives access to popular walks along the river, over the meadows as well being a place for families to enjoy being near the water. .

There is a popular campsite too, which is operated by the National Trust; that means that you'll also be helping their guests navigate through the public car park to check in.
You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, site presentation, indoor welcome in the Mill and looking after our second hand bookshop, which is a key way for visitors to support the property. No two days are the same. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.
