Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This vital role supports the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all areas meet hygiene standards. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment and committed to delivering excellent service. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry while contributing to a welcoming dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety standards
- Support the organisation of kitchen supplies and ensure stock levels are managed appropriately
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental policies
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Assist with general cleaning duties around the kitchen and back-of-house areas to ensure a hygienic environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with kitchen safety procedures and hygiene standards is advantageous
- Experience in serving or working within a hospitality setting can be beneficial but is not essential
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills within the culinary sector
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a busy environment
Pay: £12.75-£16.00 per hour
