CNC Miller Setter/ Operator
Mini Gears (Stockport LTD) is an award-winning engineering Company that supply a wide range of gears and machine components worldwide to various industries.
The Company is currently looking to strengthen its workforce with the appointment of an experienced CNC MILLER (Late Shift).
Objective: To provide CNC machine setting and operating skills, ensuring the efficient production of high-precision components in accordance with company policies. As a CNC Miller you will be experienced in setting and operating CNC vertical milling machines using various controls including Haas Fanuc and Siemens based systems. You will manufacture high precision components for various industries, handling small to medium batch quantities. The role requires a strong ability to work independently and take initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- CNC Program Modification: Modify CNC programs using Haas, Siemens, and Fanuc software based on technical drawings.
- Machining Operations: Prove out machining operations for all new products in line with company policies.
- Machine Operation: Operate all machines as part of the production team as required.
- Fixturing and Tooling: Assist with the implementation of necessary fixturing and tooling requirements.
- Production Engineering Support: Provide production engineering support to ensure the smooth introduction of new products.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with current Health & Safety and COSHH legislation.
- Machine Setting and Operation: Set and operate all machines as part of the production team.
- Training: Train and assist both skilled and semi-skilled operatives.
- Programming and Production Expertise: Provide programming and production expertise to support new product introduction and the improvement of existing products.
- Continuous Improvement: Generate and implement new tooling and methods that lead to continuous improvement programs.
- Cost Reduction: Achieve margin improvements by reducing the cost of sales.
- Project Management Support: Provide management support to specific projects as directed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other functions necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Educational Background: Achieved ONC level or equivalent in a recognised engineering discipline.
- CNC Programming: Capable of modifying CNC programs for vertical machining centres using Haas, Siemens, and Fanuc controls.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software.
- CNC Expertise: Extensive experience in setting and operating CNC machines using Haas, Siemens, and Fanuc controls.
- CAD Interpretation: Skilled in interpreting CAD drawings.
- Quality Systems: Experienced with the application of quality systems.
- Factory Experience: Proven experience in a factory-based environment.
- Value Engineering: Demonstrated experience in value engineering and process improvement.
Hours of Work
Late shift: Monday to Thursday -1.45pm to midnight.
39 hours per week
