Supervisor – Shovel & Grab Operations
Location: Regional / Site-based
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to oversee daily site operations within a busy civil and utilities environment. This role is hands-on and suited to someone with strong leadership skills and proven experience managing shovel and grab works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site shovel and grab operations to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme
- Coordinate operatives, plant, and materials on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, RAMS, and site standards
- Liaise with management, clients, and ground teams to maintain smooth workflow
- Maintain productivity while ensuring high-quality workmanship
- Complete basic site paperwork and reporting as required
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience supervising shovel and grab operations
- Strong background in civil engineering / utilities / groundwork environments
- Ability to manage teams and lead by example on site
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations
- Reliable, organised, and confident making decisions
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- First Aid certification
- Experience working on live utility or highway projects
