Deputy Manager – Supported Living
Location: Camberley
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time – 40 hours per week
Shifts: Flexible across service needs, including alternate weekends and on-call responsibilities
We are opening an exciting new independent living service supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and complex behaviours that challenge.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading and developing a high-quality, person-centred service. As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in building a positive team culture, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met, and helping shape a safe, empowering, and supportive environment for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the staff team to deliver high-quality care and support
- Promote person-centred approaches that encourage independence, dignity, and choice
- Support the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and reduce restrictive practices
- Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Conduct supervisions, spot checks, audits, and competency assessments
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, incident reports, and daily records are accurate and up to date
- Support rota management and staffing coordination to ensure safe service delivery
- Monitor safeguarding, health & safety, medication management, and compliance standards
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, commissioners, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support residents with complex needs, mental health conditions, and behaviours that challenge when required
- Drive continuous improvement and help maintain high standards in line with CQC expectations
About You
- Previous experience in a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, or supervisory role within health and social care
- Strong experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and/or complex behaviours
- Knowledge of safeguarding, CQC standards, PBS, and person-centred care practices
- Confident leading teams and managing challenging situations calmly and effectively
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Passionate about achieving positive outcomes and delivering outstanding support
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to high-quality care
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care essential (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
