Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester/Tech to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections and servicing/repairs in accordance with legal requirements and company standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a keen eye for detail to contribute to vehicle safety and compliance. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all vehicles meet the necessary MOT standards before they are released to customers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Inspect vehicle components such as brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and exhaust systems using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Identify faults or issues during inspections and accurately document findings.
- Perform minor repairs or adjustments if authorised and within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections performed in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly to guarantee precise results.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining inspection results clearly and professionally.
Qualifications
Required criteria
- Automotive service & MOT: 2 years (minimum)
- Full Driving Licence
- Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Class 4/7 MOT licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
