We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEN Teacher to join an inclusive mainstream primary school, working within the SEN provision.
The provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties. Many pupils are on Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require highly individualised support alongside access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, tailored teaching within the provision, while also supporting pupils’ integration into mainstream classrooms where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons aligned to the primary curriculum and EHCP targets
- Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and communication development
- Work closely with class teachers to support inclusion and reintegration into mainstream settings
- Implement consistent, nurturing and trauma-informed behaviour strategies
- Track and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to reviews and EHCP meetings
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teaching assistants, parents/carers, and external professionals
- Create a safe, structured, and highly supportive learning environment
About You
We are looking for a teacher who is:
- A qualified teacher with QTS (primary experience essential)
- Experienced in teaching children with SEN, ideally within a primary or specialist setting
- Confident in adapting learning for a wide range of needs and abilities
- Skilled in building strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils
- Calm, patient, and consistent in approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
- A strong team player who values inclusion and collaboration
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding and inclusive practice
Experience working in a resourced provision, nurture base, or specialist SEN setting is highly desirable.
