Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to children within a beautiful listed building we have converted into a childrens home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting personal development, and ensuring the well-being of young residents. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives through attentive care and effective communication. All of our staff are trained in PACE and NVR to ensure we have shared support values and behaviours toward our children and young people.
Duties
- Support children with daily activities, including personal care and emotional needs
- Assist in implementing individualised care plans tailored to each child's requirements
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, independence, and personal growth
- Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents in accordance with organisational policies
- Drive children to appointments, activities, or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals regarding each child's development and needs
- Contribute to a supportive team environment by sharing insights and participating in team meetings
- Ensure the residential environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies
- Experience in developing or following care plans tailored to individual needs
- Familiarity with IT systems used for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, families, and professionals
- Valid driving licence preferred for transporting children or attending external appointments
