Role Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Product Compliance Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our furniture products meet all relevant UK, EU, and international regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and environmental requirements.
You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and external testing bodies to maintain compliance across our product range, with a strong focus on UK regulations and timber compliance. This role will play an important part in supporting UK product compliance processes, ensuring all products meet regulatory requirements from development through to sale.
Duties and Responsibilities
Document Management
- Organise, maintain and update any lapsed compliance documentation including test reports, certificates, Declarations of Conformity and audit records
- Manage product compliance documentation across internal systems (e.g. Pimberly, Brightpearl, Qarma)
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Obtain and verify compliance documentation including UKFR, UKTR traceability documentation, Electrical documents and supplier declarations
- Maintain Product declarations
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete and aligned with current regulations
Risk Assessment & Verification
- Work with the Sourcing and Buying team to support product-specific and supplier-based risk assessments
- Review and verify supplier documentation to ensure regulatory compliance
Testing & Certification
- Coordinate product testing with suppliers and external laboratories
- Review test reports to ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining product certifications, including FSC
FSC & Timber Compliance
- Support the management and maintenance of FSC certification across products
- Update FSC product status internally and ensure correct documentation is in place
- Assist with FSC audits through document gathering and preparation
- Demonstrate willingness to undertake FSC training and develop subject matter expertise
Audits & Non-Conformance Management
- Support and actively participate in internal and external audits
- In accordance with the Sourcing team; track, manage and follow up on non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented
- Maintain audit records and monitor supplier compliance performance
Regulatory Research & Monitoring
- Work with the Quality and Compliance Manager to stay up to date with UK and international regulations (e.g. UKFR, UKTR, SVHC, FSC, EUDR etc)
- Support, and in time lead, research requirements for new products and markets
- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes internally
General Support
- Act as the point of contact for UK product compliance queries across the business
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure compliance is embedded in product development
What do we need from you?
Must have:
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review and verify technical documentation
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple compliance workstreams
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach to identifying and mitigating compliance risks
Nice to Have:
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the furniture or consumer goods industries
- Regulatory knowledge: Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks including: UKFR, UKTR, UK Lighting Regulations, REACH, SVHC, EUDR, FSC
- Knowledge of FSC certification or must be willing to undertake training and develop expertise
- Experience with product testing and certification processes
- US and CA product compliance regulations such as – CA65, ASTM, TSCA, CPSCA
- Experience supporting or leading audits (e.g. FSC, factory, or compliance audits), including handling audit documentation
- Proven experience managing non-conformances, including tracking corrective actions through to resolution
- Experience conducting risk assessments, particularly document-based and supplier compliance assessments

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
