We are looking for a fun, caring, and reliable Personal Care Assistant to support a young boy, during school holidays.
This role involves 3 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 6 hours if required. He is non-verbal and communicates using a VOCA, so patience and a willingness to understand his communication style are essential. He enjoys getting out in the community, particularly bus trips, attending clubs such as Northburn Freestylers, Gymnastics, and the Alan Shearer Centre, as well as activities like Airbox Bounce and swimming.
The role includes providing support with personal care, encouraging independence, and actively participating in activities, so you must be physically able and happy to join in. We are looking for someone who is lively, engaging, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting others.
Previous experience is helpful but not essential, as full guidance can be provided.
A driving licence is preferred but not essential, and there are no specific requirements regarding gender or age.
