Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV class 1 Night Driver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods across various locations. This role requires expertise in commercial driving, with a focus on curtain side and back door bay deliveries, other types of trailers may be used on rare occasion such as flat bed or containers but the work is mainly curtains/backdoors. The successful applicant will ensure timely and safe transportation of materials, securing any loads and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. The shift pattern required is Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
The hourly rate is £18.00
Optional Saturday rate is £19.00
Pay is Monthly.
Breaks are fully paid.
The standard shift pattern is Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Safely deliver cargo, ensuring proper securing of the load.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Use of apps for vehicle checks and job delivery (provided and free to use)
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during transportation.
- Plan safe and efficient routes.
- Keep the vehicle interior clean and tidy.
- Be sure to adhere to the site rules of various different sites.
Requirements
- Valid commercial clean driving license (C+E ).
- Valid DCPC card and Tachograph card.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with curtain side trailers.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Ability to to carry out duties safely.
