Transport Team Leader
An opportunity has arisen at our Longtown Distribution Centre for a Full-time Transport Team Leader in Dundee to support the Transport Manager to lead, inspire, motivate and develop a team of multi-drop drivers, loaders and shunters. This pivotal role involves supporting the day-to-day delivery logistics, ensuring compliance with all road safety legislation and meeting delivery targets.
About the role…
· Ensuring full compliance with the Operator’s License.
· Supporting the operation of the day-to-day fleet, ensuring all orders and deliveries are achieved by deadlines and all operational targets are met.
· Capturing and collating feedback from the team to support service delivery excellence.
· Leading pre- and de-brief meetings with all Transport colleagues, ensuring that they have key information.
· Supporting driver colleague recruitment, training and development.
· Encouraging teamwork through colleague engagement and colleague improvement initiatives.
· Contributing towards the reduction of Co2 emissions and promoting environmental thinking as part of best practice.
About you…
· You will have a good understanding of driving legislation including operators licensing and Working Time Directives and have a Driver CPC or working towards obtaining one.
· You will already have preferably gained experience in a similar role in the Transport sector, however training will be given.
· You will be organised, have excellent attention to detail and be able to multi-task and prioritise.
· You will have good IT skills.
· You'll have excellent communication skills and be happy working with both drivers and managers.
