Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) within a specialist school in Castle Bromwich.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with learning, communication, and social development needs to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with MLD
- Assist pupils with literacy and numeracy activities
- Support the development of social and communication skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Person Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Patient, supportive, and encouraging approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support to individual learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two satisfactory references

Relevant SEND experience required, including:
- Care work

- SEND school experience
