Maintenance Operative / Handyperson
Location: AL7
Pay: £16.00–£17.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 2–3 months initially, with the potential to be extended
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative / Handyperson to join the team in the Welwyn area.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and small DIY repairs.
- Replace light bulbs and complete basic electrical maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including:
- Repairing leaking pipes and taps.
- Replacing tap cartridges and washers.
- Fixing U-bends.
- Resealing pipework.
- General minor plumbing maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Respond to maintenance requests across the site as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or handyperson role.
- Competent in general DIY and basic plumbing repairs.
- Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
- A valid Standard DBS certificate is essential.
- Government-issued photo ID must be presented along with your DBS certificate on your first shift.
- CV required.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday.
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Standard hours are 8:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm.
- On rare occasions, an earlier start or later finish may be required, with advance notice.
