About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Children's Waking Night Support Worker to join our residential care team in Slough. As a family-run provider operating several Ofsted-rated "Good" homes, we are committed to providing safe, stable, and nurturing environments for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
Working overnight, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and security of the young people in our care. You will provide a reassuring presence throughout the night, respond appropriately to any issues that arise, and help maintain a calm and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the safety and wellbeing of young people throughout the night.
- Complete regular welfare checks and maintain accurate records.
- Respond professionally and effectively to incidents or emergencies.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and established night-time routines.
- Provide compassionate and consistent support to young people when required.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and well-organised home environment.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues to ensure a smooth handover between shifts.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in residential childcare or with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (preferred).
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification (preferred).
- A calm, dependable, and professional approach.
- The ability to work independently while remaining alert and proactive throughout the shift.
- Strong communication, observation, and record-keeping skills.
- A full UK driving licence (desirable).
