BUCO is a new independent neighbourhood restaurant opening in the heart of Christchurch, built around exceptional ingredients, genuine hospitality, fresh pasta, and authentic wood-fired pizza.
We’re looking for a reliable and passionate Second Pizzaiolo / Kitchen Assistant to support our experienced Head Pizzaiolo and help deliver an outstanding food offering from day one.
This role is ideal for someone with previous kitchen experience who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in their work, and is keen to develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
* Preparing and stretching pizza dough
* Topping pizzas to a consistently high standard
* Assisting with the operation of the wood-fired oven during service
* Preparing salads, starters, and simple pasta dishes
* Supporting all kitchen sections as required
* Maintaining quality, consistency, and speed during busy services
* Assisting with food preparation and daily kitchen duties
* Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards
* Supporting the Head Pizzaiolo and covering their duties when required
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working in a professional kitchen
* Experience preparing and stretching pizza dough
* Knowledge of wood-fired pizza ovens preferred
* Good understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
* Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
* Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Reliability, punctuality, and good teamwork skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
