We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our team. We are based in Winsford and work across Cheshire.
We are a successful, growing company with clients including schools, estate/block managers, solar pv installers and businesses. We have a strong background in working with reclaimed slate and lead on older buildings. Our work is varied, including roof surveys, leak find and fix on apartment blocks, reclaimed and random slate re-roofs, lime mortar chimney rebuilding, lead flat roofing, and solar panel installation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, industry standards (BS 5344, NHBC, LSTA), safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently at heights. The ideal applicant will have experience with pitched and flat roofs, using slate, tile, lead, epdm, pmma, and grp. You will set high standards of workmanship, safety and professionalism and ensure these are met by the team. All employees will complete an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities
- Complete roofing projects and tasks as set by your manager, including and not limited to re-roofs, repairs, solar installation and gutter cleaning.
- Lead a team including a labourer and an apprentice, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, following current best practice and guidelines throughout.
- Show a positive approach to Health and Safety and ensure that your labourers wear correct PPE, work safely, and adhere to all H+S requirements as set by law and the company.
- Drive company vehicles as required.
- Ensure work is carried out efficiently, materials are not wasted and the sites are kept clean and tidy.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing; able to lay out and accurately gauge roofs for slate and tile, use wet and dry verge, ridge and valley systems, use lead for valleys, flashings etc..
- Familiarity with new and reclaimed slate, interlocking and plain tile.
- Experience with epdm and other flat roof systems.
- Full driving license
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to roofing work.
- Valid relevant qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is important.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable skills and experience
- Lead welding, using either oxy-acetyline, Oxy-turbo or HydrOweld. Lead bossing skills.
- IPAF 3a, 3b, 1b.
- Installer certification for epdm, flexitec, pmma, velux.
- Solar panel installation experience.
- L3 NVQ roof tiling and slating, CSCS card.
- Experience with Random and Westmoreland green slates.
- Experience working on apartment blocks and in schools.
- Bricklaying and pointing on chimneys.
- Carpentry skills.

Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour
