Head of Client Accounting - Hertfordshire - Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance leader to join a large, fast-growing national organisation in a senior leadership capacity overseeing a substantial client accounting function.
This is a high-profile role responsible for leading and developing a large team of accounting professionals within a complex, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, improving processes and ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting services across a sizeable portfolio.
The Role:
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the management and performance of a large client accounting division within a busy, multi-level finance operation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a large finance and accounting team
- Driving performance management, engagement and team structure improvements
- Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial and client accounting services
- Reviewing operational processes and implementing efficiencies across the function
- Managing workflows, resource planning and service delivery standards
- Supporting senior leadership with reporting, KPI analysis and strategic initiatives
- Working cross-functionally with operational and commercial teams
- Ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, controls and internal procedures
- Supporting ongoing growth, transformation and process improvement projects
About You:
We are seeking a commercially minded finance professional with strong leadership experience gained within either accountancy practice, outsourced accounting services or a large-scale finance operation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA / ACCA qualified status preferred
- Previous experience managing large accounting or finance teams
- Strong people leadership and team development capabilities
- Experience operating within a high-volume, process-driven environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A strong operational mindset with the ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies
- Experience overseeing workflow management, quality control and service delivery
- The ability to lead through change within a growing business environment
Candidates from accountancy practice are particularly encouraged to apply, especially those currently operating at Manager, Senior Manager or Director level within Business Services, Outsourcing or Accounts functions.
