Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring seasonal and customer preferences are considered
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Support training of junior staff members and interns as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a professional chef within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards
- Experience in meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in serving customers or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not essential
- Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory
