Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance, with the ability to operate various tools and machinery. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and health of our green spaces. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about gardening, construction, and outdoor maintenance.
Candidate would be expected to be able to work Independently as they would be running one of the work vans and completing their own jobs.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting
- Operate power tools such as hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and blowers safely and efficiently
- Utilise hand tools for planting, weeding, and soil preparation
- Operate machinery such as excavators for larger landscaping projects or earth-moving tasks
- Assist with construction activities related to garden features or outdoor structures
- Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, servicing, and repairs to ensure safety and efficiency
- Monitor plant health and apply horticultural practices to promote growth and vitality
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during outdoor work
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance and gardening practices
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating power tools and machinery such as excavators
- Proficiency with hand tools used in gardening and construction tasks
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles for plant care and landscape design
- Ability to perform physical labour outdoors in various weather conditions
- Organised approach to maintenance schedules and project management
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
