Salary scale 21-25: £20,567 – £23,143 per annum (pro-rata £25,366 - £28,543 FTE)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Charity and Housing Association. The Society of St James (SSJ) has been working in Hampshire for over 50 years, delivering high impact, person-centred, accommodation services to adults and young people experiencing homelessness, problematic substance use and mental health problems. The Role:
Are you looking for a rewarding and fulfilling role that makes a real difference in people’s lives? As a Supported Lettings Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with multiple disadvantages including; significant trauma, homelessness, substance misuse, mental health and learning disabilities. You will manage a small caseload of ‘hard to reach’ service users and work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the service. You will work in a trauma informed approach and use your creativity and meaningful activities to ascertain what is important to the person, their goals and aspirations to seek engagement and encouragement to move away from rough sleeping.
Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a positive, flexible and resilient individual with great communication skills, a passion for helping vulnerable adults and a belief that safe housing is a fundamental human right.
You will have good organisational and IT skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as a part of a team.
Essential qualities and skills:
Full training will be provided but the role would be ideally suited to someone with experience of:
- The issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
- Dealing with difficult and challenging behaviour.
- The effects of alcohol and substance use on mental health.
- Equality and diversity.
- Safeguarding vulnerable adults.
