40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year
Salary Range (FTE): £29,215 - £36,896 per annum with increased earning potential up to FTE £41,759 upon completion of internal courses and length of service.
Actual Salary Range: £23,842 - £30,110 per annum with increased earning potential up to FTE £34,079.84 upon completion of internal courses and length of service.

There is a potential to contribute to team coordination for a suitably experienced candidate which may attract an additional responsibility allowance

The post holder will be working with a team of experienced functional skills tutors. You will be required to deliver high quality functional skills tuition, which meets the needs of the individual students in line with external requirements and the Trust Assessment Recording Framework.
To undertake this position successfully, ideally, you will have:
· A teaching qualification Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS or above
· Experience of teaching functional skills English and Maths from Entry Level 1 to Level 2
· Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/ or learning disabilities including Dyslexia
· Ideally a Level 5 Subject Specialist qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy
· Experience of assessing functional skills
Main Duties:
- To assess, plan and deliver functional skills in literacy and numeracy to all students on an individual or group basis according to students learning needs and requirements.
- To work alongside tutors and students in craft and practical subjects to embed functional skills.
- To work as a part of the functional skills team to develop a high-quality functional skills program within the college.
- To be a part of ongoing assessment of students learning needs and to make reasonable adjustments as required minimising barriers to learning and achievement.
- To deliver the education remit to students as defined by the Assessment Recording Framework.
