A unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate Deli Manager to join our fast-paced food retail business in the outskirts of Bradford.
We are looking for an experienced Deli Manager who, as a member of the retail management team, will be responsible for ensuring an organized, smoothly-run and profitable Deli through effective operations, people management and performance.
You will work closely with the General Manager, reviewing the range, implementing changes and most importantly delighting our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring food quality, health, hygiene and safety standards and procedures are effectively met including managing HACCP systems
Monitoring standards of personal and shop hygiene and cleanliness, promoting a positive culture towards Food Safety
Full responsibility for the business performance of the Deli working to increase sales, margin, turnover and profitability
To effectively manage food preparation and processing, including hot and cold counters, bake off, refrigeration, the deli preparation room and equipment, fresh food and packing areas
Management of stock & ingredient levels, making key decisions about stock control including analysis, review, consistency of quality, availability and minimisation of waste, using the EPOS system
To develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure superb quality at the best prices
Create, build and maintain an effective, trained and motivated team
Ensure an excellent customer experience and customer retention through a positive shopping experience and product availability
To maintain awareness of market trends in the fresh food industry and monitoring local competition
To participate in the shared retail management rota
Requirements and core behaviours for this role
Previous fresh food management experience 5 years Minimum
Qualifications in food preparation and food hygiene minimum level 2.
Previous people management experience and strong leadership skills
Knowledge of Food Safety legislation and procedures
Organised & resourceful
Customer centric and detail orientated
Passionate about fresh food and local sourcing
Ability to prioritise and the ability to balance and juggle multiple tasks
Friendly and approachable
Strong verbal and written communication skills for dealing with customers, team members and suppliers
Positive outlook and a ‘can-do’ approach
