We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Steel Fabricator Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the fabrication of high-quality structural steel components for use in a range of construction and engineering projects.
You will be working from technical drawings to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and weld steel structures, ensuring all work is completed to industry standards and within specified tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and plans
- Measure, mark out, cut, drill, and weld steel components to precise specifications
- Assemble structural steel frames and components in line with fabrication requirements
- Operate a range of fabrication equipment including saws, drills, presses, and welding machines
- Perform MIG/MAG welding as required
- Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet required standards
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and workshop procedures
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
Requirements:
- Proven experience in structural steel fabrication (minimum 2 years structural steel experience essential)
- Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
- Competent in MIG welding in a structural steel environment
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and fabrication machinery
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Good understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment
- Relevant welding qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, or coded welding) desirable
- Forklift and overhead crane experience; licence desirable
- CSR card desirable
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
