The Merry Monk is a popular independent bar and carvery restaurant located in Monkton Heathfield on the outskirts of Taunton. Known locally for our famous carvery, alongside a varied menu of classic pub dishes and quality steak meals. With a welcoming atmosphere, friendly team, and strong reputation for quality food and service.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a chef within a busy kitchen and possess a strong passion for fresh, well presented food, alongside a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations within a high volume setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise while managing daily kitchen activities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in high quality food production, cooking, and kitchen operations within a hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene.
- Excellent culinary skills with strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning, and hospitality standards.
