Durham Climbing Centre is a dedicated bouldering centre in the UK, established in 2007. The centre offers high-quality coaching and facilities for all ages and abilities, including a welcoming climbing community, extensive purpose-built facilities for beginner to advanced climbers, and facilities for individuals, schools and groups. A well established children's activity camp operates from the centre in school holidays.
Role Description
This is a full time on-site role located in Durham for a School Holiday Activity Camp leader. The day-to-day tasks associated with the role include providing supervision and leading climbing and bushcraft activities for children aged 4-14 during school summer holiday weeks, with a primary focus on delivering fun, safe and educational climbing sessions. The role requires the individual to have excellent communication skills and be able to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a similar environment.
- Experience and knowledge of indoor climbing is preferred, but not essential. Training and qualifications can be provided for an enthusiastic individual.
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people
- Outdoor leadership experience and skills in bushcraft and similar
- The candidate must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work well as part of a team.
- A first aid qualification is preferred, but not essential.
- Experience in a similar role is desirable
Pay: £10.85-£13.45 per hour
