Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman/woman to undertake a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills, including carpentry, roofing, plumbing, and electrical work, to ensure properties are well-maintained and safe. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a versatile tradesperson to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment while contributing to the upkeep and improvement of our clients' properties.
Duties
- Carry out carpentry repairs such as fixing doors, windows, and furniture.
- Perform roofing tasks including patching leaks and replacing tiles or shingles.
- Conduct construction painting to refresh surfaces and prepare areas for decoration.
- Undertake plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures.
- Execute masonry work including bricklaying, repointing, and concrete repairs.
- Carry out welding tasks for structural repairs or fabrication projects.
- Handle electrical work such as installing lighting fixtures, switches, and outlets (where qualified).
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various repair tasks.
- Fabricate customised components or structures as required for specific projects.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace during and after completion of tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and building regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or related trades.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, etc., and power tools including drills, saws, grinders.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to adapt to diverse repair challenges.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
