As an Assistant Vice President, BUK Board and External Reporting, you will play a critical supporting role within the BUK Financial Planning & Analysis function, partnering closely with the rest of the team to deliver high-quality financial insight and reporting to senior stakeholders. The role is responsible for coordinating and producing clear, accurate, and timely materials for the BUK Executive Committee, Board committees, and other senior forums, including board papers, ExCo packs, weekly performance insights, and analysis of the BUK P&L and balance sheet. You will work collaboratively across Finance and the wider business to consolidate complex inputs into concise narratives, support effective stakeholder engagement, and ensure alignment ahead of key governance and decision-making cycles. Through robust analysis and disciplined reporting, the role underpins internal governance requirements and supports external-facing communications led by the BUK CFO and Controller.
To be successful as a BUK Board and External Reporting AVP, you should have the following experience:
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a good professional finance foundation
- Proven experience in financial results reporting, including delivery of accurate, timely management and board-level information
- Solid core finance experience with a good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and performance drivers
- Experience within a retail banking or broader financial services environment preferred

Purpose of the role
To provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions.
- Development of financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations. .
- Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders.
- Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations.
- Support to business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices.
- Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
