The Role
As a Manager at HANBAO, you’ll play a key role in the smooth running and overall performance of the restaurant. You’ll lead and inspire a large team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and support the senior management team in driving commercial success.
You set the tone on shift — for service, culture, standards, and atmosphere — while helping build a high-performing team that guests love coming back to.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Deliver an exceptional, memorable guest experience every time
- Ensure smooth, high-energy service and consistent standards
- Handle guest concerns quickly, calmly, and professionally
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and coach the FOH team
- Brief teams daily on targets, service expectations, and KPIs
- Support recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Foster a positive, inclusive, growth-focused work culture
Operations & Standards
- Oversee daily operations including service, cleanliness, safety, and compliance
- Carry out opening/closing procedures and ensure business readiness
- Ensure food & drink quality, presentation, and consistency
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to maintain seamless communication
Stock, Finance & Reporting
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and waste control
- Handle payments, floats, and cashing-up procedures
- Monitor labour costs and scheduling
- Prepare or support weekly reports for senior management
- Help drive sales, profitability, and operational efficiency
Ownership
- Lead by example in attitude, professionalism, and work ethic
- Take responsibility for team performance and site success
- Promote continuous improvement and solutions-focused thinking
About You
You’re someone who thrives in a buzzing, fast-paced environment and loves delivering great hospitality. You’re confident, organised, approachable, and ready to lead from the front.
You’ll be great in this role if you have:
- Experience as a manager or supervisor in a busy restaurant or hospitality venue
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A passion for great food, drink, and guest experience
- A commercial mindset with an eye for cost control and efficiency
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to remain calm and positive under pressure
- Flexible availability and a hands-on approach
- Working knowledge of food safety, health & safety, and compliance
