Salary: Grade 1 - £23,858 - £25,055 per year, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday. 36 hours per week.
Location: Based out of Rotherham S60 1DX, with mobile working across properties in Rotherham, Chesterfield, Mansfield and Derby.

About the role
We are looking for a reliable and practical Mobile Cleaner to join our Maintenance Team. This role is responsible for cleaning occupied and empty properties and communal spaces to a high standard, helping ensure safe, welcoming and well-maintained accommodation for our tenants.
You will travel between properties across Yorkshire and Derbyshire, carrying out cleaning tasks, completing basic checks, reporting concerns and working closely with the Maintenance Office to support the smooth running of our accommodation.
Key responsibilities
As a Mobile Cleaner, you will:
- Clean occupied and empty properties, including kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, appliances, floors, surfaces and other household areas.
- Carry out communal and property cleaning tasks to agreed standards.
- Complete basic health and safety checks while on site and report any concerns, hazards or new risks to the Maintenance Office.
- Report repairs, missing furniture, missing goods or other property issues that cannot be resolved during the visit.
- Monitor your own cleaning stock levels and report when materials or equipment need to be replenished.
- Prioritise daily workload and liaise with the Maintenance Team to complete tasks effectively.
- Handle cleaning issues safely, including the disposal of hazardous items such as abandoned drug-use equipment, using appropriate personal protective equipment and training.
- Follow all relevant health and safety, operational, personnel, data protection and financial policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings and training within working hours, when required.
- Undertake other reasonable duties, commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post, as required to meet the needs of the service and organisation.
About you
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently and understands the importance of providing a safe, clean and respectful environment for tenants. You will be flexible, dependable and comfortable travelling between different properties as part of your working day.
Essential requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to properties across Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
- Basic literacy skills to complete paperwork, stock updates and health and safety records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, flexible and practical approach to work.
- Ability to assess risks and follow safe working practices, including when lone working.
- Ability to carry out cleaning duties involving lifting, handling and use of cleaning equipment, with reasonable adjustments where required.
- Commitment to providing a high-quality service for tenants and colleagues.
Desirable experience
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, housing, property or similar setting.
- Experience of cleaning void or occupied homes.
- Experience of completing basic health and safety checks.
- Understanding of social welfare issues, including issues that may affect people living in supported accommodation.
- Basic DIY, gardening or low-level maintenance experience. (Not essential)
What we offer
- Permanent, full-time role.
- Monday to Friday working pattern, with half-day Friday subject to confirmation.
- 36 Hour working week
- 180 hours’ holiday in addition to 8 statutory public holidays.
- Company vehicle and petrol card provided for work duties; you do not need your own vehicle for this role.
- Training and support from the Maintenance Team.
- A varied mobile role supporting tenants and properties across the region.
Additional information
This role involves mobile working, cleaning, lifting and handling cleaning equipment and domestic goods. The successful candidate will need to work flexibly and respond positively to changing service needs.
